Layla J. is a licensed cosmetologist that started her career in Philadelphia at the tender age of 12. She began braiding hair on the porch of her mother’s West Philadelphia home over the summer to earn money for her and her siblings to enjoy their summer. Her fascination with making a few dollars grew into a full-on passion. She has dedicated her education in all things hair care to be rooted in understanding the hair from not the surface level but, deep down into the chemistry.

Her philosophy is, “looking good and feeling good about it shouldn’t be a compromise.”

She is progressively moving forward with her career and is now attending college for her BA in Business Administration. After completion of her business degree, she hopes to open a full-service MediSpa that offers extensive education from a junior to a master’s level. She dreams to design an unremarkable coaching system to give other artists a place to shine as professionals, earn at their maximum potential, and understand their financial opportunities better. All while treating talent like they should be and providing competitive compensation and benefits.
